| I have done this before, but can't do it now. Using Movie Maker, I am able to get the video to record from my Sony digital Handycam. However, the audio doesn't record. I'm not importing music or anything like that - just whatever talking is going on in the video I recorded. Please help - I know it's probably something simple. | Guest

| Make and model of cam? How are you connecting cam to pc? -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.com "DADeuell" <DADeuell@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1E8F67DD-69F5-47FC-89B5-CBB0B4A58C94@microsoft.com... Quote:

| It is a Sony DCR-TRV 260 / Digital Video Camera Recorder. I am using a USB connetion - which is what I used in the past. Same USB cord cause I keep it in the bag with the camera. I did try the "firewire" when I first got the camera. One, it didn't work and two it was a pain to have to hook it up to the back of the PC all of the time. That's how I am certain I have always used the USB before - it worked and it was convenient. Any info you could share I would certainly try. Debra Deuell "Graham Hughes" wrote: Quote:

| I have the same EXACT problem with a SONy DCR-TRV140 using USB. It worked before, but not now. I tried both old and new drivers from Sony. No luck. Have you been able to get your audio to work? Thanks! "DADeuell" wrote: Quote:

| I h aven't tried it again lately. I was also going to try my other program - MyDVD Studio Deluxe. Haven't done that yet either. People are going to say we are crazy - that you just absolutely can NOT use a USB connection. But, I know for fact that is the only thing I used that worked. I also tried the old and new drivers. Is SO FRUSTRATING! If you come up with any solutions, let me know! And I'll do the same! Deb Deuell "RickSales" wrote: Quote:

| I actually got it to work. I found another entry in the listing that talked about our problem (or at least my version of the problem). It turns out that when you set-up the capture, you need to set the audio input to Sony Audio Device and Microphone. I did that and it worked! "DADeuell" wrote: Quote:

| In the drop down menu, I didn't have the choice of "Sony Audio Device". I did however have the choice of USB Audio Device and then microphone.....and it WORKED! That obviously is not what I used before. Thanks for the tip. Finally - found something that helped me on this post! I hope anyone else in our shoes gets to this thread and is helped also!
