No automatic name checking in Outlook on HP

I'm using MS Outlook 2000 on XP Pro. I have it set to automatically check
names when sending. It doesn't. I have to manually click the check names
button. This always worked using the same version of Outlook on Win 2K.
Anyone have an idea why?
