Default No Desktop Icons After File And Settings Transfer Wizard

I just completed a Network Transfer from a Windows 2000
Professional computer to a Windows XP Professional. The
files, favorites, and most everything else I can tell got
transferred fine. But there are no icons on the desktop.
I cannot add icons to the desktop (it lets me go through
the action, but nothing appears on the desktop). The
desktop under Documents and Settings for the user show
the icons there, and when I add a new icon, the icon
appears in the deskop folder, but not on the actual
desktop. This was a factory install (DELL) of Windows XP,
brand new computer. Any Thoughts????

Right click the Desktop/Arrange Icons By and make sure Show Desktop Icons is
selected.
