Hi, We have no sound either. It say's to uninstall and
reinstall driver. we unistalled and cannot reinstall. We
had windwos XP PRO. But, it went down and we had someone
fix it but they gave us a new windows XP HOME edition.
Before, we lost the Xp Pro. We had sound. When wwe got it
back we dont? Is there a special application or driver
needed for windows home edition rather then, windows xp
pro? Please help. We appreciate it!

No special drivers should be needed... Pro is the same as Home as far as
drivers are concerned. However if you did a reinstall, and did NOT install
the chipset drivers for your motherboard and the soundchip is onboard the
motherboard, XP may not even know it's there.

Visit the website of the motherboard manufacturer (if you know it) and
download and install the chipset drivers. If you do not know the make and
model of your motherboard, visit the website of the PC manufacturer and find
them there.
