No USB device working in Vista while it is recognized through bios

Posted: 05-29-2007, 09:19 AM
Hi

I managed to work with my newly installed Vista Home for a few weeks.
Yesterday I installed a docking station for my new Sony Handycam and
the corresponding drivers and from that moment all my usb devices have
failed to recognise. Nothing happens when I plug them in. I can't even
use my wireless mous and keyboard. However, when I enter the
computer's setup I see that my 3 usb mass storage devices are nicely
recognised. So the usb ports themselves seem to be ok.

But when Vista has started up, nothing works. Even the internal wifi
card (connected through usb) on my Asus p5b deluxe/wifi motherboard
does not work (and does not show in the device manager). There are no
devices with exclamation marks in the device manager. All usb related
devices seem to work properly.

Is there a way to remove all present drivers of all usb devices and
usb hubs, so I can one-by-one try to reinstall everything? Or does
anyone have a better idea? I'm getting desperate...

Thanks.

Sjors
