no windows mobility center / no power/battery icon

after download the iso of vista rc2 i burn the iso file on a dvd. i start
with a fresh install of this bootable dvd. all running fine and the index of
vista compatibility of my laptop [ acer aspire ] is over 2.5. but i find no
way to display the power icon in the notification area [ its disapled in gray
] nore can i run the windows mobility center - i get following error message
- windows mobility center is available only on mobile pcs.

how to i install windows vista with all the laptop functions ? what is the
right way ? or do i missing something ?

i did dry already 4 times [in battery mode - in power mode etc. ] but
nothing help.
how can i enable the mobility center or do i have the wrong vista version
[running build 5744 ]

is the way with a clean install the right one for the laptop or do i have to
upgrade from a working xp2 prof. to get all the laptop functions working ?

Hi,
I have exact the same problem.

I cannot open the windows mobility center! I get the same message "windows
mobility center is available only on mobile pcs" - my notebook is not a
notebook!!???

I have vista 5600 installed on my system.
