Make sure your system is completely cleaned or you will be stuck in a
vicious cycle or see more odd symptoms crop up.
Then visit MVP Doug Knox's website to download a file that can fix the
broken registry entries for EXE files. (The damage was probably caused by
the worm/virus you had):
