I installed xp but I am getting error 1606 when
installing norton Would anyone be able to help me

cant install security cause of a 1722 error,corrupt msi and all that,how do i sort the installer out if that is the problem?

Windows Installer error
Go to Start/Run and type: regsvr32 msi.dll
then
Go to Start/Run and type
SFC /SCANNOW
Make sure you have your WinXP CD in the CD Drive before executing the SFC
command.

The "Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed" Error Message appears

I m trying to install Norton Anti-Viris to my computer. I am having not luck. Am I suppose to change any settings. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

sue,
if its norton 2004 dump it , use AVG or mcafee norton 2004 has problems &
dont reccommend it.

If it's not installing, it might be that you've already got a virus. Some of
them will block you from running or installing AV software.

Norton's got a pretty good troubleshooter on their website. Try that.
