Not Able to import music HELP

Posted: 01-12-2006, 03:18 PM
I am making a movie on windows movie maker and I am trying to import music
from my cd. Now in the past I was able to do this with no problem. Now even
with some of the songs I've used in the past, I am getting this message when
I try to import audio... The FileC:\Document.\My Music\Chris Brown\ Run IT| (
single) \01- Run It .rax is not a supported file type, and cannot be imported
into windows movie maker.
What to do??

Can you just open up your Windows Media Player and rip the song from the cd
to your computer? If you do that, then import the file saved on your
computer into Movie Maker. If you have Medie Player 10, you go to the upper
right and there is a drop down arrow (to the left of the _ minimize symbol.
Click on the arrow and choose 'file' and then 'cds and devices' and then
'rip audio cd'. Then you will choose the drive the cd is in and all the
songs on the cd will show in the player window. Check the one you want to
'rip' and rip the song to a file on your computer.
If you can't rip it, then I would get Total Recorder ($11.95) and record the
sound thru your soundcard and save the file in wav format as it is the most
compatible. You can find Tot Recorder at www.highcriteria.com ......good
luck.
