Not allowed to download LLTD responder?

Posted: 10-04-2006, 12:36 PM
Some time ago I (legally) signed up for Windows Vista Beta 2. I received my
product key via e-mail and have since also downloaded RC1 and installed it on
my test machine. I need to connect this machine to my home network, which
runs XP, but I apparently have to install the LLTD responder. Why am I not
allowed to access the LLTD download page even though everything is legit?

Hi Adriaan,

From:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/Win....mspx?mfr=true

"During the beta test period of Windows Vista, this download is only
available to registered participants in the Windows Vista beta program."

This refers to TAP, technical beta testers, and a few other groups, but not
the general public CPP program.

Thanks for the reply. This renders Vista absolutely useless to me for now.
Why give the whole operating system, but hold back something like this.
Thanks anyway.
