Not Responding

I do lot's of installs and uninstalls of products to test
for distribution of our volume licensed software. sometime
a while back, my system just started having an awful time
starting up programs. One minute to start NOTEPAD. windows
XP system, 256 MB RAM.

I look at the task manager and the CPU is doing NOTHING.
2-3%. a minute or so later, bang. cpu goes way up and
program starts. there seems to be little noise during this
time of anything going on on my hard drive. It seems like
it must be going thru some massive search for the program???

only other thing that may bear mention. I have an old win
9x application that needs PATH info. I used the Environment
variable to enter this path info as PATH pathinfo; %path

to include the rest of the standard path info. I have
deleted this special ENv PATH info setting, but to no avail.

Reinstall Win XP from scratch???

Several times I have typed labels and when I try to
print, all I get is "Not responding". Why is this, and
what can I do to avoid this problem? It is wasting a lot
of my time and energy working with this. I need help as
soon as possible, PLEASE.

I recently bought a new motherboard/hard drive. The new
hard drive came with XP. Ever since then, my computer
constantly stalls and says "Not Responding". This happens
all the time, whether or not I'm on the internet. Also, my
printer is extremely slow now and even stops printing for
several minutes before continuing. Help!

Not positive that this is the source of your problem but
have you activated your new copy of XP?

Take it back to where you bought it.
