notebook operating as desktop automatically reverts to notebook power configuration

Posted: 03-31-2007, 03:21 PM
XP Home, SP 2, Notebook, (HP Pavilion, Ze 4230)

I have noticed since I reformatted my HDD a few weeks ago, that the power
settings often revert my computer to "Portable / Laptop " power mode when I
reboot.

Yet, I remember clearly resetting the power settings to have the Pavilion
act as Desktop all the time, and I remember clicking on "apply",

this is, since I leave the A/C plugged in all the time I wish it to operate
as Desktop for certain software applications.

The reverted, seemingly automatic, change, reverting back to Portable/
Laptop, has caused problems with certain software running in background
that gets affected when save mode kicks in.

What else must I do to assure the power settings stays as configured by me-
as Desktop?

Please advise,

Robert
