nv4_disp (nvidia) inifinite loop

Problem File : nv4_disp
The device got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually
indicates problem with the device itself or with the
device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.
Please check with your hardware device vendor for any
driver updates.

I've d/l'ed drivers but this still seems to be a chronic
problem. Any suggestions or rememdies?
