NVidia 680i - Network Adapter - Sleep - BSOD

Posted: 04-19-2008, 01:20 PM
Still having this problem... this 680i motherboard, Vista, and the onboard
network controller (NIC) just don't jive...

If you set Vista to "sleep" after a couple of hours, it turns out the lights
on the NIC, disconnecting the system from the network... wake it up and the
connection's down and won't recover... the event log's full of errors and
warnings with various "time-outs" and if I "reset" the adapter it wakes up
then BSOD's a few minutes later:

DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE - 0x0000009F

I have the latest Nvidia chipset drivers installed... the system is
otherwise dead solid stable. Anyone got any ideas on how to get Vista to
sleep without loosing it's mind ???

System Specs below:

Got SP1? Updated before SP1? Gone to your mainboard vendor and updated
BIOS and device drivers? You have updated Nvidia chipset drivers, but
there be more device drivers and bios updates that you must install.

Thanks... the chip set drivers were updated AFTER SP1... there is a BIOS
update but according to the release notes for this MOBO, it does not address
any related issue. I'll try it though and see.

Again thanks... m
