Nvidia GeForce Vista x32 drivers

Posted: 10-13-2006, 12:06 PM
Does anyone know if these are on the way, I can only find the X64 and X86
Drivers on Nvidia.com.

What is the main difference between x32 and x64.

I downloaded x32 as I thought it would put less strain on my pc.

x32 and x86 are the same thing. x32 refers to the intel
32-bit architecture which is how the x86 cpu runs. x86
refers to the line of cpus: 8086, 80286, 80386, 80486, etc.

x64 was developed by amd. it is an extension of the 32-bit
architecture for the purpose processing data in larger
chunks. x64 means it is an extension of the 32-bit
architecture.

for the purposes of drivers, you cannot run 32-bit drivers
on x64 and you cannot run 64-bit drivers on x32/x86. the
drivers must be the appropriate ones for the underlying
architecture of the os.

Yes, the x86 driver should work in Vista x86. However, RC2
has newer drivers that some are having problems with. I was
never able to get the drivers off the web to install until
RC1 build 5728. Apparently the configuration of your entire
system affects your results with the nVidia drivers.
