| My HD crashed on my Dell XPS T600, that includes 320 meg ram. With a new hard drive I replaced Windows 98 with XP Home Addition. My main complaint is I do not have Outlook Express (6) spell check, which I understand is now a part of Internet Explorer. All the tools/option switches are on. both Word and XP have been reloaded several times for missing files. Single word spell check causes "an error occurred while spelling being checked" message. Using the SEND button causes a "spell check on this document halted" message. MS eMail troubleshooting says a possible cause is a missing Csapi3t1.dll file preventing communication with Word Spell Checker. The WORD spell checker works just fine. A search of the XP disc indicates this file is not present. It was located on the Win 98 CD, however it is a new installation disc and can not be copied. OE HELP/about MS OE, shows the missing file and lists it as an UNKNOWN. Update downloads from MS only make matters worse. OE's MS on the Web is totally useless. Are there Switches in Explorer or Word that need to be turned on? By all accounts my OE spell check should work but it does not. Thanks | Guest

| Copy and paste the following without the quotes into your search, it should be on the word disk: "CSAPI3T1.dll" then copy to the Outlook express folder. -- Michael Solomon MS-MVP Windows Shell/User Backup is a PC User's Best Friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ "Chuck Mehlhaff" <mehlhaff@bitterroot.net> wrote in message news:087001c36dde$5254ead0$a301280a@phx.gbl... | I used MS search as suggested for(CSAPI3T1.dll). I looked in hidden and all other files in WORD, XP, WORKS SUIT 99, and my HD. I was unable to find the above *.DLL file. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Quote:

| Try this: Copy the following command to your clipboard: EXPAND M:\I386\CSAPI3T1.DL_ C:\CSAPI3T1.DLL Place your XP CD is in your drive, Click on Start - then Run and Press CTRL - V to Paste the command into the RUN box and press ENTER and it should run the EXPAND command and expand the CSAPI3T! file onto your C: root directory. Using Windows Explorer, MOVE the CSAPI3T1.DLL to your C:\Program Files\Outlook Express folder Remove the XP CD and reboot -- Michael Solomon MS-MVP Windows Shell/User Backup is a PC User's Best Friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ "Chuck Mehlhaff" <mehlhaff@bitterroot.net> wrote in message news:03f501c36f72$033fbed0$a301280a@phx.gbl... | Hi Chuck, Try this fix: http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/oe_spell.exe You dont need to manually extract csapi3t1.dll. The above fix does it all automatically. BTW, This fix is available from www.majorgeeks.com site (also referenced in Michael Stevens - MVP site) Regards, Ramesh SRamesh2k@hotmail.com "Chuck Mehlhaff" <mehlhaff@bitterroot.net> wrote in message news:087001c36dde$5254ead0$a301280a@phx.gbl...
