| Got my Office 2007 installed in 10 minutes once it was downloaded. Wow! My memory usage has gone way up. I also noticed that my computer choked a little bit with the 60MB Windows Vista Product Guide. It didn't with my Office XP. Both versions took a while for the entire document to load all the pages. I noticed that Word 2007 loaded all the pages faster, but my computer choked also. If my RAM's getting eaten alive with Office 2007 on XP, it's going to be very interesting how it will hold with Vista. I noticed while the Vista document was loading, my RAM free went down to 100MB. 768MB of RAM doesn't seem to go far anymore. With just Outlook, Outlook Express, and WMP11 running, I've got 18,352 handles going. Only 220MB of RAM free. Outlook was eating 50MB of RAM when I first opened it, but it settled down to 20MB. CPU usage is normal. (Not higher than before.) Besides, the above mentioned issues, it's working fine so far. | Guest

| I'm running the Office Beta 2 on Vista 5384. I have a gig of RAM. I have, as I write this (on my XP seat, because I'm having problems with Windows Mail on Vista...) a whole boatload of stuff running on my Vista seat; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Clip Orgainizer, Photo Gallery, Windows Calendar, Movie Maker, SysInfo, CompMgmt AND I have the 60MB Vista doc open in Word. That doc loaded lightening fast and my system is not showing any signs of sluggishness whatsoever.I'm using around 18K handles, have around 400MB's physical RAM left... man, things are looking A-OK and both the OS and Office are Beta code... not too shabby, IMHO... I've got a W2K box running OL and it's using 15MB... I've got an XP box running OL and it's using 20MB... that's quite a jump up to 50MB... but I would hope that's because it's still got debug code in it... I just opened OL Beta 2 in Vista and it's using 55MB... yeah, that's alot... but my system isn't bogging down at all... in fact, I've still got lots of free physical RAM... approx. 450MB... interesting...
