Open Containing Folder

Is there anyway to set windows so that it will say on the right click menu,
"open containing folder" when i click on a shortcut.

I like this feature in the windows search and would like to be able to do it
on my desktop.

Until you can find a tweak that will do what you want, here's a workaround:
Use the Find Target button in the shortcut's properties. Clicking that
button will open the folder that the target item is located in. This works
with many (but not all) shortcuts.

Thanks thats great.

This is the first time i have used this news group.

Since i made my post i have received about 7/8 emails all claiming to be
from microsoft about security updates etc.

Every single one of these emails had a virus attachment.

This rather concerns me, who is sending these to me ?

Delete immediately those contain a virus. Microsoft doesn't contact
customers in such a fashion. If you opened one you're infected. I just
recently spent a week recovering from one of those things. McAfee really
understated the seriousness of the damage from these.

Machines infected with a "worm" are sending these. The worm looks through
the address books and newsgroup headers on the infected machine, collecting
email addresses. Then it sends mail (and an attachment) to those addresses.
The mail is spoofed to look like it comes from Microsoft. Delete it.

It will find your email address on any machine where the user read a
newsgroup post that you wrote. Since it's a valid email address, the mail
shows up in your mail box. Change your settings in Outlook Express to mung
your email address in the newsgroup headers:

Tools> Accounts> News. Select a news server. Then click Properties button.
On the General page edit the email address that is listed. Click OK to
complete.

If you look at the headers for my message, you'll see that I use:
sharonfDEL@ETEmvps.org

Many folks will get more creativity points for munging their address than I
will but so far I've found this to be be sufficient to avoid unwanted
emails.
