Open File - Security Warning

Posted: 03-31-2005, 10:46 PM
I have recently upgraded to SP2 and I am now getting "Open File - Security
Warning": Publisher could not be verified.....

This is happening when the system boots and the driver for my Intel 865G
Graphics Controller loads. (ifxtray.exe is an unknown publisher).

I can click on Run, but my Display Adapter is not loading with any driver
support. If I manually add the driver using the Update Driver wizard, then
it loads just fine.

I have included this driver in my build and it did work before SP2.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Sean.

Open File - Security Warning

When I try to run some applications on my target (XP Embedded - SP2,FP 2007)
I get the following message "Open File Security Warning - The publisher could
not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?". This behaviour
is undesirable in my particular situation. Is there a way to disable this
warning?
Thanks,
Kap

Hi, Kap.

Open File Security Warning is the sympton, as I know, when you run
the executable file via network share.
anyway, to disable the warning,

Run gpedit.msc,
Go to Local Computer Policy -> User Configuration -> Administrative
Templates -> Windows Components -> Attachment Manager,
Enable 'Default risk level for file attachments, enable 'Inclusion
list for low risk file types'.
Add the file extensions (maybe .exe) that you want to open without
warning to the list.

Happy XPE-ing.
Ted.

Thanks for the reply Ted. I just tried out what you suggested and it worked
fine!

up when some programs are run advising that the publisher could not be
