Default Opening view of Windows Explorer

In XP-pro, I am trying to get Windows Explorer to open
with a view that has folders in the left pane, with the C
drive folders (+ sign) expanded and that shows the C
drive root, with folder and file details, in the right
pane. When I try to customize the explorer view using
command-line switches per Knowledge Base Article 307856,
explorer then starts as INTERNET EXPLORER(not Windows
Explorer) with FAVORITES in the left pane and with the
desired C root details in the right pane. I was able to
get the view that I want in my previous Windows ME
system, using the command-line switches, but XP has me
stumped.

Try changing the shortcut's Target to:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, C:\

Right-Click on Windows Explorer and select "Properties".
In the box that says "Target", add the following : /n,/e,C:\
Leave one space after explorer.exe and don't forget the commas.
