Optical Devices

Posted: 02-14-2008, 08:47 PM
Hello, would anyone know of a reason why Windows Vista does not detect the
burning capabilities of my two optical drives?
I have

Mad dog md-16xdvd9
and
LG GSA-H22L

Usually if you right-click a drive (let's say cd-burner) and go> properties,
a tab
called "Recording" should show up.
This isn't the case for either of my Dvd Optical Drivers (both can burn)
So in all, Windows doesn't detect them? Why? Anything I can do?

you might go into Device Manager and REMOVE the devices.
shut down the computer.
wait 3-5 minutes.
power it up and allow the system to find and install the optical device again.

if no help.
might take a look at the drive manufacturers site for newer drivers for the devices.
