optional updates

Is there a way to copy or download optional updates for future
reinstallation.

The reason I ask is that I use a PC 5740 EVDO connection as my primary
internet connection and if I do a clean install my card wont work until
I install two optional updates.

Curitel Communications - Modem - Curitel PC Card
and
Curitel Communications - Ports - Curitel PC Card Diagnostic Serial Port
(WDM)

From what I've read I'm assuming it's because even though its a PCMCIA
card it actually is installed as a USB modem and needs a software
bridge.

I may be totaly wrong so don't hold that against me.

I've gone to the Microsoft website and downloaded all the
critical/important updates listed in the installed update and put them
on a USB drive but would like to include optional updates to save myself
the trouble of driving around the neighborhood looking for an unsecure
wireless connection just to install those updates.

I hope that I dont have to reboot but you never know.

In one of my earlier posts I got a little out of line because of a
comment made about the beta being given to just anyone. I want to set
the record straight. I read these theads every day and to be honest
most of them are above my head but I have learned more this site in the
past month than the two years I've been trying to learn by myself so
thanks.

I wish that there was another forum for non-IT users but I'm afraid the
people that can really answer our questions wouldnt use it. Its a catch
22.
