Orange Buttons!!

This may not be the correct place to post, but....when I
bring up Internest Explorer or Outlool Express from
the "Hot Keys" on my keyboard they come up on the taskbar
as orange in color instead of blue. Is there a setting
I'm missing for this or what?????

Have you checked your graphics card manufacturer's website to be sure you
have the latest XP drivers for your card? If yes, you have tried
reinstalling the drivers for the card?

William, that's a visual notification that the application is loaded and
ready for your attention. TweakUI for XP has some settings regarding
"Focus."

By default the window that is ready will come to the forefront. Not
convenient if you are composing an email or otherwise occupied in another
program.

The TweakUI Focus settings are under "General." Check a box to "prevent
applications from stealing focus." Then use the additional settings to
control the appearance of the orange taskbar button. I have mine set up to
flash 3 times and then stop.

TweakUI for XP with SP1 only:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p.../powertoys.asp

If you do not have SP1 installed, use the earlier version found at:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ertoySetup.exe

Hmm, I don't generally use hot keys, could that be why I didn't know about
this?:-)

Maybe, Michael. I don't use them often either. I get the blinking taskbar
buttons when using Quick Launch shortcuts too. The key factor, I think, is
launching a program or website but instead of waiting for it to load, you
go back to working in a different window.

The orange blink on the taskbar is just a visual to notify you that the
other window is ready. Depending on your settings, it could blink until you
finally give it focus - bring it into view. That repetitive blinking could
be quite annoying and distracting.

I assumed he meant the taskbar buttons were orange and blinking so that is
what I addressed.

So do I, I just never paid attention to it until you made mention of it in
your post and it suddenly hit me, "Oh yeah, I've seen that!<LOL>

And you're right, it can be quite annoying.

I think that is what he meant. If not, he'll certainly post back.

Hope so.
Got the new ATI drivers in and so far I like them. How did you do with
them?
