On re-reading your post, it occurred to me that you might be asking
where you could find non-Microsoft newsgroups. Many ISP's offer news
servers - check at your ISP's website. This link has some good
information about news servers that might be useful to you:

Rt.click toolbar>add newsgroup icon>click it and list is there and you can
search for specific term.

Thanks Chad,
I cannot find an "add newsgroup icon" anywhere, including windows help.
Either in Vista or in XP Pro. I need step-by-step guidance, I guess, or at
least make sure I understand what should be running - I'm assuming you mean
this toolbar - in my Windows Mail.

I think that Chad interpreted your post the way I first did. You need to
go to your ISP's website and look for something about newsgroups. If the
ISP offers newsgroup access to its subscribers, there will be
information about what the name of the news server is and how you need
to log in. Or if your ISP doesn't offer the service, go to the Wikipedia
link I gave you and check out places like Giganews, etc.

Here are links about using newsgroups with Outlook Express. It is
probably similar in Windows Mail:
