Pagefile question

Posted: 01-19-2005, 02:45 PM
I'm running XP HOME on a P4 3.2 GHz with HT Technology with 1024MB DDR SDRAM
at 400 MHz, a 128MB DDR ATI Radeon 9800 Pro graphics card, and a 120GB SATA
hard drive. I run a very intensive application/game that is CPU intensive
(Flight Sim 2004 with several add-ons). I'm confused about what the ideal
pagefile size should be. Somewhere along the way I got an initial setting
of 1536 and a max of 3072. Does that sound about right, or is there a
better configuration for my set up? Or, should I just let the system manage
the pagefile? Thanks for helping a medium knowledge computer user!!!

I have always let Windows manage the pagefile.. subject to having enough
drive free space, this setting works well..

Hi

Yes, I let the systems here handle the Pagefile - and don't have any
problems.

I'll let Windows handle it. Thanks Mike and Will for your help.
