PapaJohn's Website

My ISP was dong some 'maintenance' over the past couple days, which effected the website. I moved the site to another server until things settle out there.

It was the first time I moved it to keep things moving smoothly - in the past, I just waited until the ISP finished it's maintenance. When it moves, I can easily change the link that www.papajohn.org uses - so you won't notice the difference if you are using this URL.

For those who have bookmarked the original and now old link - which still worked until I turned it off a few minutes ago - they should change to use www.papajohn.org

The older link was http://pws.chartermi.net/~papajohn/MM2.html - which worked until a few minutes ago.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but it's better for all of us if I only have one master set of files to maintain and your URL keeps working if I move the site from one server to another.

The server got hit by a power blip last night and has been down since. It
may take a good bit of today to return the website to full service.

Tell 'em to buy a UPS! And I send my sincere condolences to you -since I
also got hit by one Monday morning, but everything was just fine when it
rebooted. And yes, I'm off to buy myself several UPSs this morning.... one
for the DSL modem/router and one for the 2003 Server since they're in
different rooms. I've heard they work wonders!

Strangely enough there is a long thread about UPS units at
www.dbstalk.com..... they appear to be just perfect for satellite tv
reception during a black out as well!

Hi Cari,

It's my son's server and his business needs are more critical than my website needs, so I leave it to him to take prudent steps.... I just asked him about UPS units and he said:

"unfortuntely the UPSs were causing my servers to blip by drawing too much power & flipping the circuit -- I need to re-distribute my power draws to different circuits"

The circuit he's talking about is his house circuit breaker. The servers are in his downstairs.

Oops! I hope rewiring won't have to feature in his near future.
