Partitioning Disk?

Posted: 07-02-2006, 12:53 AM
Hi. I am a newbie and I do NOT know how to partition my disk for Windows
Vista. Does the Installer for Vista do this automatically, or must I do this
manually?

You must do it manually with a product like Partition Magic.

No offense, but if you consider yourself a newbie and don't know how to
partition your drive, I STRONGLY recommend you do NOT install Vista. The
beta is intended ONLY for experienced computer professionals and should only
be installed on a test machine, not your main machine.

It will, almost guaranteed, crash your system and cause irrecoverable data
loss. There is no way to get XP back once you have done it.

DON'T DO IT.

Tom

You can use a second hard disk to install into (I'm using an external hard
disk ).

If it is a raw disk and not the system disk, Vista Setup does contain the
partitioning tools under Advanced Options.
