Pc Bug Doctor

I ran across a free download this morning for PC Bug
Doctor. I t is supposed to scan your P.C. and find errors
on you puter. I downloaded it and scanned my computer and
it said I had 368 errors. When I tried to fix the errors,
I was told I needed a lock key which cost X amount of
dollars. My question is has anyone tried this program and
is it worth the expense, or should I just take my
computer into a shop and have it checked. It does lock up
when playing games, and some times when on -line. I run
XP home,.Thanks

PC Bug Doctor may work, but I have been using Registry Mechanic from winguides.com, for awhile now and it works great. It is a free download with option to purchase also, but it fixes your errors for free. The free version doesn't fix the final shortcut scan errors, but it fixed 400 other problems, so I purchased the full version for $30, and fixed those last few that weren't neccessary, because I'm a clean freak when it comes to my PC.
I don't like PC Bug Doctor's way of luring you into a scan that fixes nothing and takes up your time, only to charge you for the fixes. I don't like running a scanner that could potentially mess up my registry so they can **** me a fix. When a company has a free downloadable WORKING limited or trial version, you can feel safer about it.
Do a GOOGLE search for Spybot, you NEED this one too and it's free. It finds alot of spyware and removes them. Also get Ad-Aware from Lavasoft.com, it finds even more and is free also!
I run all three of these programs on a daily basis and my computer is lightning fast. I have used these programs to fix dll errors too. I recommend these programs to all. And those who like porn sites, Spybot gets rid of those annoying trojans that re-write your home page setting, and other compounding problems that re-write themselves over and over again even after deletion.
After running all these programs, I would recommend buying Norton Ghost by Symantec.com. I make a back up Image of my C: drive onto a DVD, and I can restore that Image anytime I run into problems. Before restoring, I back up My Documents folder onto a CD-R, then after the Ghost Image is restored, I install my Documents into it's folder again and that's keeps me current if the Ghost Image is a few months old.
A Ghost image contains Windows XP and all else on your hard drive including all programs, so you don't have to start from scratch or install XP again, it's ALL there, even your connection settings! Ghost will install this Image even if Windows won't boot up.
Good Luck!
