PC keeps hanging

From the symptoms (monitor blank) it sounds like you
may have a bad display adapter driver. Once you getr the
machine up and running, right click on your My Computer
Icon, select Properties(usually at the bottom). Once you
have up your System Properties dialog box, click on the
Hardware tab.Then you will see a button labeled Device
Manager, click on that. If there is a problem with any of
your hardware, ther should be a yellow "?", or red "!"
next to that item. If there are no ?'s or !'s, click the
+ next to Display Adapter and see what is listed there,
and if it matches what you have installed on your
computer. Next, click the + next to Monitor, and see how
many are listed there. Sometimes you will have more than
one monitor listed. Tell us what you've got, and we'll go
from there.
