| Hi... I've just installed apache on my computer and it is saved under local disk/C, program files, apache. I am supposed to save a php file in an apache subfolder, however I get the following dialog box: "...You don't have permissions to save in this location. Please contact the administrator to obtain permission." I am the administrator, and nowhere in my computer can I find a the option to set the permissions up in Program Files under C:. Where/how do I change the setting, so that I can save in this location? Thank you. | Guest

Use the link below. It's called " take ownership of an item ". After you have it installed, right click on the file in question, click Take Ownership, then proceed . http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67...ship-file.html Please inform if it works or not. -- t-4-2 | Guest

| Chelsea You've already seen that the Program Files folder is heavily restricted. In Vista, when you install a program and the program has to write configuration files to it's own folder, another folder for that program will be created and associated with that program. When you select the Apache Program Files\Apaches folder, look on the Command Bar in Windows Explorer for a button called 'Compatibility Files'. Click on this button and the folder where this program will store it configuration information will open. This folder will be in your user accounts folder. The location will be: C:\Users\your name\AppData\Local\Virtual Store\Program Files\Apache\SubFolder. Storing these files in this location will maintain the integrity of the Program Files folder. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Chelsea" <Chelsea@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9CAF5C59-CD7F-4565-AC0F-D613AC94548A@microsoft.com...
