What is the format of the images you are using in the project? This sounds like it may be a resource issue. Deleting temp files and doing some routine maintenance might improve the situation. Empty your Temporary Internet Files Folder. | I've just downloaded and made a "story", aka .wmv and saved it, BUT the saved movie does not play correctly. The slides do not transistion and the video is a black screen. I'm using Media Player V10. If I "back-up" the plaing video it will play the slides okay. When I "Preview" the story during it's creation it seems fine, BUT after saving there seems to be an issue. I'm not using any custom transistions, I'm just taking the defaults when making the story. The only added feature I have included is to add a music file (.wav). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance!!!! | Guest

| 1. All the images are .jpg 2. By "back-up" I mean this ..... when I see that the video-display has gone black and is not displaying a picture, but the music keeps playing, I move the "play-slider" backwards to a point where there should be an image displayed and an image will show up. Does that help? "John Inzer" <oobie@doobie.xyz> wrote in message news:#ntuV#3rIHA.5576@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... Quote:

| Performance is not the issue, I don't have any problems playing many other videos. The issue only occurs with Photo Story 3 generated videos that I have started making. "John Inzer" <oobie@doobie.xyz> wrote in message news:ebqpES4rIHA.5580@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... Quote:

I still think it's a resource issue but you might try removing the motion effects and see if there is an improvement. The following freebie may be useful: TweakPS http://www.windowsphotostory.com/TweakPS -- John Inzer Digital Media MVP Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk | Guest

| There was a post on the PhotoStory.com website forum about this problem. As soon as I changed the song from a .WAV file to an .MP3 the issue went away. Photo Story must be having a problem when rendering WAV files ...... a bug!!! "John Inzer" <oobie@doobie.xyz> wrote in message news:OOXm175rIHA.2064@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... Quote:

| Another update ..... I made another Photo-Story (.wmv). All .jpg images and the music was an MP3. I saved the project and then used TweakPS to change the "duration" and remove the motion. Then I went back to Photo Story and made the .wmv ..... it had the same problem as my first Photo Story, the music played but screens went black on image displays. I closed the project and Photo Story and I went back to TweakPS and "Removed Transistions", even though I didn't use any and the problem went away. ....... just thought I'd pass this along "John Inzer" <oobie@doobie.xyz> wrote in message news:#vJ70p8rIHA.2208@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... Thanks for the update. Probably not worth pursuing but guess what? I still think the issue is resource related. And it's not impossible that it could be an issue with your video driver. I think I might reduce Graphics Hardware Acceleration just to see it it would improve the issue. If it does...you can bet the video driver is at fault. -- John Inzer Digital Media MVP Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk | Guest
