Photo Story 3 output to Pocket PC

Posted: 10-29-2004, 04:29 PM
When I try to play the output movie file from Photo Story 3 on my pocket PC
media player (Version 8.5 Build 12177) only the sound plays no video.
Even the clips that Microsoft provided as example do this.

Anyone else have this problem or even better a fix?

Correct me if I am wrong but it is only for Windows XP, not the Pocket PC.

Thanks for your help,
Patrick

According to the specs at the following site, the
completed Photo Story should play on WMP 7
or better.

However...for Pocket PC...you may need
Windows Media Player 10 Mobile as discussed
at the following site:

It may be worth a try to experiment with the
various save options.

You may correct, but when I downloaded PS 3 on my PC (not pocket PC and I am
on XP) I reveived a message that I first had to download version 10 to get
PS3 to work.

The site you cited clearly says version 10 is needed.
In fact, PS1 and PS2 required version 9, so obviously version 7 is not going
to work. Maybe it will work on a pocket PC (I have no idea what this is) but
not on XP on a PC.

Don't blame me...I'm just sharing the info
from MS. The following site clearly states
that WMP10 is required for *creating* a Photo
Story but they will play with WMP7. The original
question was about *playing* a Photo Story...
not creating one.

I am not blaming anybody.
Indeed, creating and viewing a PS3 file can require different resources.
As far I know PS1 required WMP9 to create and view. Now PS3 requires WMP10
to create, this is clear. But maybe you can view a PS3 file created on WMP10
with an earlier version of WMP. I doubt it but I cannot verify this since I
am WMP10.
