When transfering video from camera to computer the picture quality looses its clarity could you tell me if this is supposed to happen.

Paul, Diane,

If you're looking at the image quality of the project in preview mode, it's
320x240 at 15 fps.... when rendered to a saved movie, it'll be the quality
level you select.

Hopefully that's what you are seeing and there's nothing wrong.

> Paul - did you get any response to this? It sounds like we have the same
problem. The image is crystal clear on the video when played on the TV but
when we play it on the movie maker it loses clarity. Let me know. Thanks!

I am trying to make a slide show with background music. I noticed that when I open a picture in full screen view it looks great. However, as soon as I add it to the timeline and open it in full screen view it is horrible. I have the same problem as christine.

timeline previews at 1/2 resolution, makes the realtime editing take less
processing power, still publishes at full resolution though

I am having the same problem. I was hoping that the picture quality was only going to be affected while I was editing, but when I publish, the pictures are still poor quality. I have used Nero to make a slideshow of pictures, and the quality is great. I want to use Movie Maker so that I can add titles and music, but the picutre quality is terrible. Any suggestions???

I've recorded a movie under movie maker 1 but the picture quality is very
poor. Is there anything I can use to improve this.
I have a sony digitaal video camera (DCR-HC14E) and used a USB cable. My PC
has an intel pentium 4 processor 3.06ghz

Use firewire, it was designed specifically for capturing video, the
difference will amaze you!!!
As the pc spec sounds good I'd assume you will have onboard firewire, also
known as ieee1394/i-link.

For this project, I'm solely using still photgraphs taken with my Nikon D70
DSLR. I notice the poor quality from within Movie Maker. I import a picture
into the project - it looks fine. As soon as I drag it onto the Storyboard
it becomes blurry.

I tried changing the resolution from 3000x2000 to 1024x768 (approximately).
It made no difference.

To answer PapaJohn, I would have noticed it if this had happened to my
earlier project. Funny thing is that when I open that older project now, I
have the same problem. This problem did not exist before.

I appreciate your replies!

the project storyline/timeline is a low draft quality 320x240 mode at 15
fps... not the quality you get when you save the movie...

nothing has changed in Movie Maker

Just stating that an image "looks terrible"
is not enough information. Can you offer
more details? And what is the "scanner
software"?
