bypass method.
I used the S-video and audio cable to hook the camera to a vhs player.Then
used Firewire for cam to pc.Then you have to go into the menu on the camera
and set the
's/av input to 'on'.
I did not use MovieMaker to capture. Don't remember why now. I Don't use MM
much since I found MoviePlus 4. Although i do use it for some things.
Read the section in your manual pertaining to Dubbing to or from a vcr. The
section on using the camera as a recorder is what you want. Just follow
those instructions and you should be in business. If you don't want to copy
your vids to a dv tape, just don't put one in. You can still capture from
the camera.
If memory serves me right, I think I had to capture with the camera in auto
mode instead of play mode.
