Pinging problems (and then some)

I have 2 winxp home machines... a desktop and a laptop.
Problem is, the desktop can see the laptop and ping the
laptop. The laptop cannot ping the desktop, nor see the
desktop. AND, the desktop cannot ping the desktop.

Does anybody have any clues as to what the heck I'm doing
wrong?

Please reply to my email as I check it more often.
