If you have one of the higher end graphics cards you can play direct to the
monitor bypassing the computer (In a sense) My Graphics card has DV-in & out
for exactly that purpose. You need the right graphics...they are usually
expensive. Apart from Graphics Driver and any firmware updates software as such
is not required....there is almost no control over the image this way...other
than the monitors controls and camera controls.

There are a number of applications that may give you extra control...I use
Webcam32 which does various kinds of server function or supply on demand as
well as playing to the screen....there is a section on my website for webcam
software...do not be mis led by the name...check out the software desciptions.
