Playing burnt CDs

I've tried converting all the WMA files to MP3 first but they always seem to
get converted before burning. I've tried both Windows Media Player and
iTunes. Any ideas?

What do you mean by "burnt on a regular CD player"?What type of disks format are you burning? WMA and MP3 must be on a data CD.
If you burn to an audio CD they will be converted to CDA format.
A burned audio CD will not play on many older stand alone CD players.
A data CD must be played on a player that specifically states that it will
play WMA or MP3. Very few can.
