Playing a Game

I loaded a game called Zoo empire and when I double click the icon to play
it, it brings up a message that says

Create Device Fails (invalid Call)

What does this mean?

Sounds like a driver issue, make sure all your drivers* are up to date, and
that you've got the latest version of DirectX installed on your system
(www.microsoft.com/windows/directx).

*Check what hardware is in your machine (guide in the Windows site in my
sig), then visit the respective hardware manufacturer's website and look for
"drivers".

If you're not sure what any of this means feel free to post back and one of
us will give you more detailed response. 8-)

I'm not that computer literate, so I really don't understand this.

A device driver is a piece of software which allows the parts in your
computer to communicate with the operating system. Paul is suggesting that
you get new drivers for your display adapter (graphics card) and possibly
the audio card. There are drivers for other components in your system but
those are the first two to consider.

If you don't know where to look you can post what's in your system with
Start>Run>Dxdiag. Click save all information and post the file to the
newsgroup.
