please help me

i just got a brand new computer with windows xp
i have clicked the button so that the taskbar will hide
inactive icons but it doesn't hide them
does anyone know why it won't hide the inactive icons and
how i can fix this?
please help me

>The reason they are not hidden is because they are NOT
inactive! If you have them listed in StartUp they will
activate at bootup and will not be hidden.
Start/Run/type MSCONFIG and click OK > StartUp tab > now
uncheck/disable everything except your anti-virus
program, if Norton, it will start with NAV > Apply > OK >
reboot. Now you have a "lean, mean machine" Have fun!
Oh, by the way, disabling the programs does not delete
them, it only stops them from activating when you boot.
You can click the icons to start them any time.

Have you right-clicked an empty space in the notification area, and chosen
"Customize notifications..."?

Please help me

Dear sir or madam

I had windows xp home edition installed to my PC. In its
wondows media player i stored many song tracks. i wanted
to install windows xp professional so i made a back up of
all my music tracks.

Now i have windows xp professional installed to my pc.
whenever i try to open my media tracks, it automatically
connects me to internet page but i don't have internet at
home. those music tracks means a lot to me. i really wanna
listen to them. can u please tell me what to do?

In what way did you "make a backup" of all your music tracks? Did you burn
them to CD-R?

I do hope you'll drop by this newsgroup again to check up on responses to
your question, bacause most people will not respond via email.
