poor quality sound

Posted: 01-25-2004, 12:26 AM
I have just bought new pc. Am complete novice! When I play a cd on windows media player the sound is really tinny. Moving the treble & bass on speakers does not improve it. I have been told that the speakers are of ok quality.

Can anybody offer any suggestions?

Thanks

Did your speakers come with your system, as most of them suck.

Playing tool - SRS WOW Effects or Graphic Equalizer
settings, playing with these settings may effect the
output. - Double check yo don't have the speakers plugged
into the headphone socket.
Again - I'm not much of an expert!!!

Are you downloading music? What is the music source? CDs should play fine with all the default settings, Downloads should have a bitrate of 128 or higher
hope this helps
