Pops Before Audio

I get a small pop before mp3 & wav files play.The pop is
not there when I burn the files to a CD so it isn't that
major of a deal.I might add the pop is present no matter
what player I use (Windows Media Player,MMJB,Winamp,Sonar).
I also might add that the pop is there on all mp3's not
just the ones I ripped myself with MMJB (it happens with
the mp3's that are downloaded also).I'm using AC97 onboard
sound.It's just a little annoying.Any ideas?
