Slobodan,

I hope I read your post correctly. The solution is to make sure that the
target is ACPI compliant. A computer that is ACPI compliant will power down
Windows XP when the power button is pressed.

it is ACPI compliant
And in my test build that is based on WinLogon works perfectly. But like I
mentioned before I use MinLogon.

This problem was discussed in this group before. But I couldn't find any
solution to this problem.
Last conclusion that I was able to find was that this is a bug in MinLogon,
and that it will be fixed. This was last year.

I don't know of any QFE that corrects this problem.

If it can't be done I just need info how to read state of power button
(Open/Closed).

Any other idea, or work around, please help I need that button.
Slobodan

BTW:
Have you or anyone tried or succeeded in doing this with MinLogon?

Slobodan,

Okay. I understand. One more question. How about the XPEPM.DLL and related
APIs? XPEPM.DLL was designed for Minlogon and is found on CD1 in the extras
folder. Would this work?

Thanks again Sean,

XPEPM.DLL is intended as replacement of API function ExitWindowsEx that
don't behave very well in minlogon, that is all I see.
Using this API it's possible to restart, shutdown, hibernate. But it won't
enable power button support, nor I can use it to read button state.
If I new the button state then I can use XPEPM API.

I don't know of any more related APIs, if you know then please let me know.

Slobodan,

Sounds like this is a low level problem, where the only alternative is to
create a driver for a button. Unless someone out there has an alternative or
Minilogon is modified.

Sorry, I couldn't be more of a help.

Regards,

Sean

Anyone from MS,

When will QFE be available that solves issues with power button?

If there wont be any of QFE's please let me know.

Best regards,
