Power settings screen won't open

When I click on power options you see a window opening then instantly go
away. Does anyone know where I should look to resolve this? I also am
having problems with the event viewer, but thats a seperate post. I am using
the 64bit beta 2, it has all the drivers.

Click START,click RUN,type CMD and click OK

At command prompt type POWERCFG/RESTOREDEFAULTPOLICIES

Press ENTER
