| Anyone have any idea when we will be able to sync anything other then WM2005 devices with Outlook in Vista? The trail has grown stale... Thanks! (and why does everytime I check "notify me of replies" I get an error message??? Is this web site Beta too???) | Guest

| I have given up on syncing with my pocket pc (via active sync or equivalent in Vista). I keep my data on my memory card, one of which holds 2 G Bytes. My documents are kept on the memory card. No need to sync, I just pull the memory card from the ppc, plug it into my usb memory reader which looks and acts just like a usb memory key and plug it into my desktop, and the data is there. No cables and cradles to mess with. It would be nice if the built in Pocket Outlook could sync with a memory card. I like how the new OneNote 2007 synchronizes with a usb memory key. I would like to see that ease of syncing with Pocket apps with memory cards. I am writing my own task manager program. I am trying out the new SQL Server Everywhere. This allows me to keep my data in a .sdf SQL mobile database which can be read by the desktop SQL Server everywhere that my desktop app will use. Syncing will be automatic because the same database file is used. Obviously the only drawback is that you can't have the data on your pocket pc and your desktop at the same time unless you make a copy. The syncing like how OneNote 2007 does it (with the usb memory key) would seem to solve that problem however. One of my usb memory keys has built in synchronizing software that can synchronize with outlook. Its seems like a good way for desktop to desktop syncing. I only just gave that a try a few hours ago so I don't have much experience with that.
