| It sounds as though you have a multifunction keyboard wherein one of the buttons on the keyboard might be used in conjunction with the speakers, muting the sound for example and the function is mapped to the wrong key, in your case the spacebar. If you have such a keyboard, my guess is you need to check the keyboard manufacturer's website for updated drivers for the keyboard.
