"print server connect fail" message

Posted: 03-07-2006, 01:46 AM
I have a workstation running Windows XP Professional that is acting as a
print server for an HP 2300l laser printer. The printer is connected to the
network via a Linksys print server. This setup has operated smoothly for 1
1/2 years until last week. After a recent automatic update on the print
server I now get a "print server connect fail" message frequently. How can I
find out what the automatic update did? Is it possible that this update may
have caused the problems with the print server? I know how to clear the
error message and restart the queue, but I now have to go through this
routine several times a day.
