Print Spooler Problem, Error 1075

Posted: 12-06-2006, 08:55 AM
"The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion."
I have completed the regedit instructions given Michael's post of 12-02-06.
I followed the instructions to the letter. There was also a Lexmark driver
under ComSet3, so I deleted that lexmark subfile also, as follows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Print
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Pr int
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Control\Pr int
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Pr int\Environments\Windows
NT x86\Drivers\Version-3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Print\Monitors
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Pr int\Monitors

From here, I went back to Services, and the Print Spooler, set to automatic,
and tried to start the print spooler. It gave me this error message
above^(1075).
I also, first downloaded and opened/installed rktools, as Bruce Sanderson
suggested in the link that Cari provided in her response. I have very little
technical knowledge, so I opened the rktools, and found cleanspl.exe, and ran
it, only to receive another error/Access is denied. Under computer name, I
typed the computer with the name it's know by, my name mispelled, Dolores,
but at second glance under browse it only has My network places although my
computer in used at home only and isn't on a network/my name nor my computer
were listed here to select. I have saved printscreens of all these error
messages and I don't know what the problem is, what caused it, how to fix it,
nor where to look for assistance. Can anyone help me from this point! Can
Lexmark Support help me in any way?

After calling Lexmark, I resolved my problem when they told me it was a
system error, so I thought that I could repair XP software with the second
repair option with the CD, and it worked for me. The print spooler service as
started afterwards, when I looked, where it wouldn't start previously.
