Printer does not respond

Posted: 09-02-2003, 02:06 PM
I have a deskjet 660Cse and a network canon ir330-400pcl
printer attached to my laptop. I am able to see and
communicate with both printers....but when I try to send
a print job....I get error unable to complete. Is there a
possible mistake that I have done that does not allow the
job to reach the printer

er..... that's it?
What make and model of printer?
How is it connected to the PC?
Was this a clean install of XP or an upgrade?
If an upgrade, was it left connected during the upgrade?
Does it have ink it in?
Is it installed correctly?
Is it turned on?
When was the last time it worked correctly?

More info needed

Uninstall completely as per
http://www.coribright.com/windows/Article%20One.htm

This is such an old printer that the only drivers available are on the XP
CD.... (if you want to know how old it is, probably older than 8 years and
possibly 10 years old, it was designed in the days of Windows 3.0)

After the reboot of the PC, use the Add Printer Wizard and only connect the
printer when the Wizard tells you to, NOT before.
