Default Printer in home network

I have a laptop and a desktop in a home network, both using Vista. A printer
has a USB connection to the desktop and sharing with the laptop allowed. I
can print fine from the laptop but cannot access the printer from the
desktop. What could be the problem and how can it be fixed? Thanks for your
help .

So the printer connects to the desktop, but the desktop can't print. I would
check the printer driver first.
