printer icons et al

Like an idiot I bought a cheap knockoff of Adobe called PDF Quick Converter
Pro. After installation I tired it, and naturally it didn't work. After
uninstalling it I now have no icons in the Printer and Fax folder! My
printers are still usable in Word, Excel, etc, but they don't show up in the
folder. Also I can't add a printer either. The "add a printer" from the
File menu or clicking on the "Add a Printer" in the sub window do not
respond. Any suggestions?

The spooler service probably stopped. See this page:

My printers have all disappeared from the Control Panel, Printers & Faxes

the application may have substituted system files


Use sfc /scannow in a cmd window to verify Windows
files
